We like this smooth, deep-dish pumpkin pie made with brown sugar. The brown sugar gives it just a hint of caramel. Try this for the holidays.
3/4 cup brown sugar
3 large eggs
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon ginger
1/4 teaspoon allspice
1 15-ounce can pumpkin puree (about 2 cups)
1 12-ounce can evaporated milk
1 9-inch deep-dish pie shell
Preheat the oven to 400 degrees.
1. Mix the sugar, eggs, salt, and spices together. Add the pumpkin and evaporated milk. Mix well.
2. Pour into the unbaked pie shell. Bake for 15 minutes at 400 degrees. Bake for another 45 to 50 minutes at 350 degrees or until done. The pie will be done when a knife inserted near the center of the pie comes out clean. Cool on a wire rack.
