Cheese PizzaIf you like cheese and fresh tomatoes, you will love this pizza.  Use good quality cheeses and fresh herbs if you can get them.  A good pizza doesn’t have to have a lot of cheese.

Using a prepared pesto makes this pizza easy and quick to put together.

one pizza dough recipe, mix, or refrigerated dough for a 15-inch pizza
1/4 cup prepared pesto
3/4 cup prepared pizza or spaghetti sauce
1 tablespoon fresh oregano, chopped, or 1 teaspoon dried oregano
2 tablespoons fresh basil, chopped, or 1/2 tablespoon dried basil
3/4 cup grated mozzarella
3/4 cup grated Romano cheese.
2 tomatoes, sliced
2 tablespoons freshly grated Parmesan

Directions

  1. Make the pizza dough and the pizza crust per the package instructions.
  2. Brush the crust with the prepared pesto and then cover it with pizza sauce.  Sprinkle with the oregano and basil.  Top with the grated cheeses.
  3. Bake in a preheated oven, 450 degrees, until almost done, about 12 minutes.  Top with the tomato slices and sprinkle with Parmesan.
  4. Return to the oven and bake for another two or three minutes or until completely baked.  Serve hot.
