How to Make Cinnamon Burst Sweet Rolls

One of our most popular bread mixes is our Cinnamon Burst Bread Mix.  It makes a soft white bread loaded with cinnamon bursts.  Why not do the same with sweet rolls, add cinnamon chips?  We decided to make Apple Cinnamon Burst Sweet Rolls.

How to Make Apple Cinnamon Rolls

We used a Country Farm White Bread Mix but you can use any bread mix, recipe, or refrigerated dough. To make the dough just a bit richer, we used an extra two tablespoons of butter. We made the dough in accordance with the package directions with the dough hook in our stand-type mixer.

Once the dough was complete, we folded in 3/4 cup of cinnamon chips. (If you are using a two-loaf recipe, use twice as much.) We kneaded the dough to distribute the chips and then set it to rise.

Once the bread had risen, we rolled it out until it was 1/4-inch thick. We spread apple pastry filling on the dough to within 3/4-inch of the edges. (We could have used another pastry filling, a jam, or a cinnamon and sugar mixture.) We sprinkled cinnamon over the filling and rolled it up jelly roll style.

Using a serrated knife, we cut the roll into inch thick logs and placed them in a greased baking pan. (We had to try out one of new Ultra Gold pans from Wilton.) We let the rolls rise until they had doubled in size and were puffy. We then baked them at 350 degrees until they were done, about 20 minutes. Once cooled, we drizzled them with frosting.
