GuacamoleSince we like avocados, we like this guacamole sauce.  Not only do we use it as a sidebar to Mexican dishes, we use it as a spread on sandwiches.  A favorite sandwich is guacamole spread on whole wheat bread and topped with slices of red, ripe tomatoes.


2 large ripe avocados
1/4 cup sour cream
1 clove garlic, minced
1 tablespoon lemon or lime juice
1/2 teaspoon onion powder
salt to taste


Peel and mash the avocados.  Add the sour cream, garlic, juice, and onion powder.  Mix until smooth.  Refrigerate until ready to serve.

Tip: Place an avocado seed in the sauce until ready to serve to preserve color.
